Focus Group Discussion with College Students

College students from government and private colleges – Polytechnics participated
in the workshop.
Discussion points
Challenges faced by college students in Puducherry on aspects of relevance of curriculum,
extent of practical learning, relevance on the job, examination system, industry
and institution interaction and so on were discussed.
Suggestions given by the participants
Students expressed their views about the importance of language labs, latest course
curriculum, facilities for research, internships, quality of education, training
for language/soft skills, moral leadership and so on. They also said Pondicherry
must be developed as the global destination for higher education.
